At the end of my pregnancy I starting feeling the calling to be a midwife. I didn't say anything to anyone. I just went to the Lord in prayer. I asked him if this is my calling then how can I do this with the time spent helping with my grandma? Then after a couple of months praying about it my grandma gets a new doctor which he helped her get better. My aunt decides to take early retirement so she can be there to help my grandma & take some of the weigh off of me. I feel the Lord was answering my prayer & opening the doors for me to be able to move on with it. I spent a few more months praying about it and the feeling was just getting stronger. The end of September I talked to Mark about it and he said go for it honey. He thinks I would be good at it.
The first of October I made the decision to move forward with it. I started going to birth meetings & researching. I have been reading so much the last couple of months getting ready to start my online courses. I will start my courses with Aviva Institute after the first of the new year. I will be taking these courses below.
1. Breastfeeding Educator Certification
2. Childbirth Educator Certification
3. Birth Doula Certification
After that I will start my midwife courses.

"Incredible Day of School"
Today we had an incredible day of school! Lots of learning along with lots of fun! It's such a blessing to have the joy of teaching your own children. I absolutely love watching each one of my children learn. Their all so different and have different learning styles. Each of one them are at different levels. I enjoy hearing their book reports, essays & research papers. I say hear because they have to stand up in front of our family and read them out loud.
When your child is having problems with one subject. It's such a joy to see how proud your child is when they finally it and you get to enjoy that special moment wtih them.
There's nothing like hearing your child read for the first time. A moment I'm so glad that I'm here see the looks on their faces & hear their excitement when they say I CAN READ! It's just an Incrediblely awesome feeling! Another special moment I wouldn't miss for anything.
These are memories I hope I never forget!
Thank You my heavenly father for allowing me to be able to stay home with my children & for the freedom to homeschool!!!!! A true blessing!

Mexican Casserole
2 lbs. beef or turkey 1 small can enchilada sauce, mild
1 can cream of chicken soup 1/4 c. picante sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup floor tortillas
1 can chopped chilies, drained Velveeta cheese
1/4 c. milk
Brown meat and drain. Mix together drain meat, soups, chilies, milk, enchilada sauce, and picante sauce. Spray baking dish & then cover with flour tortillas. Pour half of meat mixture cover with tortillas, then add a layer of Velveeta cheese. Repeat layers, tortillas, meat mxture then Velveeta. Bake in oven on 350 until chesse melts, about 15 minutes. Yummy!
I use turkey meat.

2 lbs. ground beef or turkey 2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen broccoli
1 medium onion ( or Tbsp. onion flakes) 1 can cream of cerery soup
2 c. Minute Rice 1 small jar Cheez Whiz (plain)
2 c. water salt & pepper to taste
Cook ground beef or turkey with onion or onion flakes until meat is done. Drain off grease. Cook rice with water (as directed on box). Cook broccoli bits as directed on package. Drain juice from. Put all in large mixing bowl and add cream of celery soup, Cheez Whiz. Add salt & pepper to taste.
Can be make ahead of time and frozen.

"My Journey to became a midwife!"
My journey starts with my birth story. As I sit down to type this it's all coming back as if it was yesterday. The heartbreak, the sadness and the tears.
My Birth Story!!!
I was pregnant with our 7th child. At almost 35 weeks on Sunday June 26, 2005 I noticed that this very active baby boy who has been waking me up in the mornings didn't wake me up. We were getting ready for church and I told Mark (my husband) that I was wondering why the baby didn't wake me up. We decided to go on to church and if the baby didn't move by time church was over with I was going to call the doctor. Church was over with and still no baby moving. So I called the doctor on our way home. The doctor on call, said drink a soda and eat a candy bar then lay down on left side and if baby doesn't move in a few hours call the labor floor. I got off the phone and called the labor floor right away the nurse said she felt like I needed to come in right away to make sure everything was okay. So off the hospital we went. After 45 minutes on the monitors and a 30 minute ultrasounds. They said baby was in distress and 30 minutes later I was having my first c-section. Our son Nathan had his cord around his neck three times and the other end was in a complete knot.
Dec. 2006 we found out that I was pregnant with our 8th child. I was told right away that I had no choice but to have another c-section. That there was nobody in Oklahoma who would do a VBAC anymore because it is just to dangerous. I trusted that the doctor was being honest with me. So on Aug. 15, 2007 I had my second c-section. When our daughter Hannah was two months old we found out that I could have had a VBAC. I was heartbroken that I had another c-section for no reason. I decided right then I was going to start doing my research. So if I got pregnant again I would be ready and prepared.
In Oct. 2009 we found out that I was pregnant with our 9th child. I knew for sure I wasn't going to use a doctor this time. Mark & I meet with different midwives. We both knew right away after meeting one of my midwives Margarett that Heaven Sent Births was the place for us. Margarett and Anne were amazing support during my pregnancy! Then at the end our little guy decided he wanted to turn and walk his way into the world. On June 22, 2010 heartbroken again here I was having my 3rd c-section. I was very heartbroken that I didn't get my VBAC but I know it was best for our son Caleb. Anne was great support she meet us at the hosptial and stayed with us. Even when I was in a very bad mood, so upset and so sad. Then later Margarett and Anne both came to see us. I didn't get my VBAC but I had the best care ever. They are two very incredibly amazing women who inspired me to became a midwife. I want other mama's to feel the way they made me feel.

"Thanksgiving"
It's time to think about the things that we're thankful for. First and most important thing is JESUS because none of us would be here if it wasn't for him. So Thank You Jesus for loving us so much!
I'm thankful for my wonderful husband for loving us, being supportive & working so hard to support our family, helping me so much so I have time to study & for our 9 little blessings:
Our first daughter Ashley who absolutely has a Jesus heart and would do anything to help others.
Our second daughter Brittney who loves to read to the little ones.
Our 1st son Dillon & 3rd son Collin who were so kind to take care of our elderly neighbors yard all summer and never wanted a penny from them. They just said they wanted to because they love Jesus.
Our 2nd son Hunter who is so easy going and just goes with the flow.
Our 4th son Brady who is always happy and loves learning about the Bible.
Our 5th son Nate (Nathan) who's our wild man and always has the biggest & cutest smile on his face. :)
Our 3rd daughter Hannah who is so sweet, loving and loves to sing Jesus Love Me.
Our 6th son Caleb who just loves to cuddle & he is totally mama's boy.
Thankful to have my sweet gramdmother here with us for the holidays. Last year her health was so bad that we honestly didn't think she would be here with us this year. I'm so thankful for the doctor who saved my grandmother's life and thankful for God for sending the doctor our way.
Thankful for my two amazing midwives who took the best care of me when I was pregnant with Caleb. They were great from the beginning to the end. I love both of them dearly for being honest with me & for caring so much. I honestly love them both. They are two women that I'm very proud to call my friends.
Thankful for my family & friends, to have food for my tummy, a house to live in, clothes on my back, 2 washers & 2 dryers and all the little things we don't think about everyday.

My first Blog
I'm a follower of Jesus, a wife to an amazing guy named Mark & we have 9 wonderful blessings!!! I'm setting up this blog so family and friends can keep up with our family. There's always something exciting going on in our house. With 9 children, how could it not be exciting? We're a homeschooling family & we absolutely love it!
We're fixing to have alot of changes going on in our house. I'm fixing to start online courses to became a Birth Doula & then a Midwife. I will share with everyone has our family starts this new journey in our lives.
